For quite some time I have had tried different makes of juicers, only to realize that most of them are too difficult to clean and some of them fail to work beyond a few weeks.
After all what does one look for in a juicer except that it should offer quick juices, be easy and quick to clean and made from quality materials so that it lasts longer. Of course it has to be priced reasonable. Having tried many of those fancy juicers I experienced that Juiceman JM300 is ideally suited for domestic use. It works fast, saving time and money and delivers more juice than any other juicer from the same amount of vegetables or fruits. Further it reducing your preparation time.

Have a look at the features of the Juiceman JM300:
- It comes with 3 inch “wide-mouth” chute that helps to minimize or almost eliminate preparation time for cutting apples, carrots, etc.
- Very economically prized, around $50 to $70
- It’s easier to clean than most other available brands like Breville, Green Star, and Omega.
- This is built to last; unlike some more expensive juicers (see the mesh element on Breville juicers)
- It delivers DRY pulp, meaning that you get better value from your produce.
Some consumers consider this juicer as a good starter, but having tried and used the Breville Elite, priced over $300 and the GreenStar costing $450 juicers, I have little doubt that the Juiceman is the best of all.
Juicers are NOT created equal. Breville juicers are very much like the Juiceman, but because of the design of their mesh and the straining element leave the pulp produced by them very wet, meaning that you are losing a lot of juice and just throwing your money down the drain.
An important consideration while buying juicer is to know if you are generally going to use it for juicing of grass and leafy vegetables. The fast-spinning, centrifugal juicers of the kind of Juiceman are basically designed for juicing of all solid fruit and veggies, both hard and soft. Though the Juiceman does deliver juices of grasses and leafy greens, only “masticating” auger-type juicers are designed to offer the best value out of grasses and leafy vegetables. The best auger-type juicer is the “Green Star” brand.
Juiceman juicer is available in two models: JM300 and JM 400, the latter has stainless steel body and therefore offers the convenience of cleaning. The plastic body of JM 300 tends to acquire an orange tinge if its parts are only lightly rinsed off rather than putting them in dishwasher on regular cycle. In most of the cases the coloring is due to carrot juicing.
Many users prefer using the JM300 because of its slide switch, in stead of a rotary switch on the JM400. JM 300 allows you to keeps your messy, juicy, hands away from the machine because you can just tap the switch with a knuckle, rather than groping for the rotary switch to turn. Nevertheless, both the models are equally durable and offer excellent value for your money.
The Juiceman JM300 is the best juicer your money can buy. Better save yourself the bother of buying any mediocre and more expensive juicer, instead get one of these.
This device takes just a bit of more space than the width of a coffee cup, and is small enough to easily occupy its place in any kitchen. With all the functions that it has to offer, it is good substitute for many kitchen appliances including a blender, food processor, juice extractor, hand chopper, coffee grinder and pepper grinder. There’s a lot of functionality packed into this small device.
It’s awfully easy to use. Unlike a standard pitcher that sits on top of a blender, the Magic Bullet Blender uses inverted oval cups, six of which form a part of the package you buy.
Its use is very simple and convenient; you just add your ingredients to the dome cup, fix it to the base and press down with your hand. No buttons to push and in a matter of seconds you’re done.

Its cleaning and washing is also very convenient and quick. There are not many parts apart from the dome cups, the blade, a gasket, and the base. The base can be wiped off by hand. The dome cup, blade and gasket wouldn’t take long if you like to rinse them, else you may put them into your dishwasher. The Magic Bullet Juicer is surely entitled for five lime rating for convenience of use and clean up time.
Performance
With so many functions, what’s the performance like? The Magic Bullet Juicer is a very a versatile compact blender.
You’ll find it very convenient when you like to whip up smoothies, frozen drinks, soft dips and sauces. However, like most other blenders it becomes difficult to grind ice cubes of standard size. Its functioning while handling heavy-duty jobs is erratic.
The high-torque engine is almost as powerful as most other blenders available in the market. So, don’t expect using it for juicing ginger and other hard root vegetables. It also means that continuous coffee or pepper grinding can wear down the engine sooner than expectations.
Now, when you decide to use it for making salsas or chopping veggies, it doesn’t perform as good as a basic hand chopper. What’s the problem? The engine is so powerful that it almost makes a “veggie soup” out of everything, in stead of delivering chopped up chunks of tomato or onion. Nevertheless, that “veggie soup” is an excellent puree that can be used in many recipes.
As a fruit juicer and even as a citrus juicer its performance is fine but has a little problem with juicing vegetables. It’s fine even for making juices of softer vegetables, but unable to handle carrots or any other vegetable harder than a carrot due limited capacity of its motor. As a result, we award The Magic Bullet Juicer with three lime rating for performance.
Durability
The Magic Bullet Blender is a light-duty juicer meant for light-duty tasks. Many users find no problems in handling and using this device, but there are many user reviews reporting that small pieces keep breaking over time, rendering the whole machine non-functional.
Many of the common parts are not available separately, meaning that if a small part on the motor base breaks (the most frequently reported problem), you have to buy a whole new base. Moreover, in case your warranty is over, replacement parts are quite expensive, if at all available.
The limited warranty, though there, is too limited. It covers one year that sounds like a long time, but the problem arises when you really want to use the warranty.
Getting service and replacement parts is very difficult. You are entitled to get these only if you purchased your Magic Bullet straight from the magic bullet infomercial website, unless you jump through some seriously convoluted hoops. Now, what are these hoops?
You have to prove that you are a genuine buyer of Magic Bullet Blender by providing them a copy of your original UPC code. For ordering replacement parts without the original UPC code you must give the company a copy of the front cover, warranty page, and back cover of the 10-Second Recipe book!
The story doesn’t end there, for you have to take four photos of different parts of the power base, and a picture of the box it came in. Further, you need to tell them how many pieces arrived in your kit, the color of the box in which your juicer came, when did you buy it, and what’s the color the center gear on the main.
Wow! If you could do all that, wouldn’t the UPC code still be on the box of which you are taking snaps? Durability is certainly an issue with this company, Homeland Housewares, and doesn’t seem to accord priority to offering a “long-term” product to its consumers. So, we decided to give just one lime rating for durability.
Who should Buy It
If you’re looking for a light duty juicer, and would like using all of the other functions too, well, this machine will come to your expectations. It is simple to clean, dishwasher safe and lightweight that gets easily stored in your cupboard after you’re done for the day.
With its wide range of functions and a 100 page recipe book, you’ll realize that the Magic Bullet Juicer can be used for many applications that you’ll find missing in most other blender or juicer. Costing just about a $100, this low price machine can be used for juicing and much more.
However, if you’re looking for a juicing machine for more frequent use that should last for long, you should really look for some other juicer. If members of your family like to take juice regularly, it is worth spending a bit more and getting more durable juicer.
